How to Use the Same WhatsApp Account on Two Devices

Would you like to utilise the same WhatsApp account on several Android devices? That used to be a little difficult, but thank goodness WhatsApp has taken user feedback to heart and greatly simplified things! The device connection capability has been broadened so that it is no longer limited to desktop computers, laptops, and tablets. The same WhatsApp account may really be used on several phones. The most important thing, though? It’s really simple, really!

However, there is a little trade-off, so hang on. Some functions, including real-time location sharing and status updates, are still accessible on your primary cell phone, so they won’t function on the linked devices.

But don’t worry about security. Your conversations will still be end-to-end encrypted when you link another phone or more devices, just like when you link with any other devices. You can connect as many devices as you like, regardless of whether you use an iPhone, an Android, or a combination of both.

How does WhatsApp Companion Mode work?

One WhatsApp account may be used across numerous devices with the fantastic new feature known as “WhatsApp Companion mode.” Therefore, regardless of the device you’re using, all of your conversations, contacts, and groups sync. With the same phone line, you may quickly connect up to five devices.

You might think that it is just like the current “Linked devices” functionality. But, nope! This Companion mode is entirely different and was created just for mobile devices. On April 25, 2023, they formally implemented this.

These procedures will allow you to use the same WhatsApp account on two Android devices

1. Put WhatsApp on a different phone

You’ve got a second Android phone? Excellent. Let’s get going. Open the WhatsApp app after installing it. After selecting your language, you must agree to the conditions of use. You only need to press ‘Agree and Continue’ to finish.

2. Connect the second smartphone

Don’t enter your phone number right away! Choose ‘Link this device to an existing account’ instead. Simply press the three dots in the top right corner of your smartphone to go to this page. A menu with the ‘Link to existing account’ option ought to appear. When you choose it, the QR code will immediately display on the display.

3. Scan the QR Code

Let’s now switch to your main phone, the one on which WhatsApp is already installed. On an iPhone, open “Settings,” and on an Android device, press the three dots. Select ‘Linked Devices’ after that, and then click ‘Link a Device.’ The camera view on your phone will then show up. The QR code on your second phone should be in its position. Your conversations will begin loading and automatically connect up. It could take a little time for them to open.

Similar connections may be made using a personal computer, laptop, or tablet. Additionally, you have the ability to link up to five devices, including your primary phone and four other connected devices.

Just bear in mind that using WhatsApp on connected devices doesn’t require your primary smartphone to be nearby or even to be kept on. You must log into WhatsApp at least once every two weeks to continue using it on those other cell gadgets, though. This stops it from automatically logging out, which means you won’t have to re-link it if you ever need to use it.
